How you take care of the procedure area over the next 10-14 days will ultimately determine the final appearance and longevity of your Microblading or Micropigmentation.
Contraindications of microblading and micropigmentation
I can NOT perform Microblading/Micropigmentation if you:
Are pregnant or nursing
Are undergoing chemotherapy or have undergone chemo in the past 12 months
Are sick or unwell

Are under the age of 18
Have Keloid scarring anywhere on your body

Have had or are planning to have Botox, fillers, or injections within 2 weeks before or after your appointment.
If you use Retin A, please do not use for 2 weeks before and after your appointment. Do not do chemical peels as this extends the wait time to 4 weeks.
I require a doctor’s note if you have or have ever had a history of keloid scarring, HIV, an Autoimmune disorder, Hepatitis, Hemophilia, Diabetes, Epilepsy, heart problems, a skin condition that enters the brow area, take blood thinners or have any medical condition that might affect the body’s ability to heal in the procedure area.
If you’ve had any previous brow tattooing done, please book a consultation appointment, prior to booking the full procedure service. This give me a chance to asses your brows to see if we can work over top of the previous work. Typically what I was to see if the brows have faded enough and what color they are.

More in Depth…
24 Hours after appointment are the most critical to ensure the best healed results. Avoid putting the procedure area directly into water or any water stream and avoid cleansing the brow area when washing your face as this can wash out the pigment from the brow area. During the healing period minimal contact with water is recommended. Please wash your face carefully around the eyebrow without getting water on the treated area until brows are completely healed and/or scabs are gone.
The morning after your appointment, any lymphatic fluid (clear fluid) and excess pigment on the brow area can be dabbed dry with a clean tissue, which will help reduce excessive scabbing. Do not let any water, lotion, soap, or makeup touch your eyebrow area during the first 10-14 days after your procedure.
If your brows have not scabbed over, this is completely normal aswell. Some clients, usually clients with oily skin types, do not scab as their skin holds a lot of moisture, therefore the brows aren’t able to fully dry out and form scabs. Everyone skin heals differently and at different rates. If you’re not scabbing, continue to not get the brows wet and avoid any products (including aftercare) on the brow area for 10-14 days or until you can see clearly that there is no open skin throughout brow.
After 2 days, make sure your hands are completely clean and gently apply the post-care ointment with a cotton swab and clean hands. (This is only if I’ve recommended you apply aftercare at the appointment. If I recommended you dry heal, please don’t apply the aftercare and disregard this paragraph) This can be done once-twice a day, at night time and morning time, depending on your skin type. The brows should not have any aftercare build up as it can hinder the healing process. I will let you know how often to apply based on your skin at the time of the appointment. Be sure to use the ointment sparingly as your skin needs to heal itself. A paper thin coat will do just fine and continue to apply the ointment until scabs have fallen off. Please follow aftercare instruction recommended by artist at time of appointment.
If you’re brows have scabbed over, itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days post procedure. Avoid picking or scratching as it can pull off scabs prematurely and cause pigment loss and/or scarring. Once all scabs are off and/or brow area is completely healed over, light physical exfoliating can be done at this point to encourage brightening of the pigment and to address any lingering dryness. And again, if you have no scabbed and they aren’t not itchy, this is completely normal too as everyone’s skin heals differently. It just means your skin holds enough moisture that aftercare is not needed to keep them slightly hydrated. Light exfoliating can be done after 10-14 days to encourage brightening of pigment.
Avoid any make-up on or around the procedure area during the 10-14 day healing process. Make-up can cause discoloration of pigment and also increase the risk of infection. Once the 10-14 day healing period is done and the area is completely healed over, you’re welcome to apply make-up and wash face normally. (remember to avoid any retinols, harsh chemicals or AHA’s)
Avoid pools, saunas, steam rooms, tanning, spray tans, facials and excessive sweating for at least 2 weeks, until the brow area is healed over. Avoid Botox and filler two weeks prior and two weeks post appointment. Skincare containing retinol or any chemical exfoliants should be avoided prior and post procedure as it can fade and distort the procedure area.
Similar to traditional tattoos, its normal to have a loss of pigment through out the brow area. As the scabs fall off the brow, you’ll notice the color of the brow underneath the brow will be super light, sometimes barely visible. This is completely normal as it takes around 1-2 weeks for the pigment to resurface to the top of the skin. Any areas of the brow where the pigment does not resurface, will be addressed at the touch up appointment, 6-8 weeks after the first initial appointment.
If you have any unexpected problems with the healing of the skin, please contact Erin Irene Artistry immediately, to discuss further instructions.
Contact a physician if any signs or symptoms develop such as the following: fever, redness at the site, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, elevated body temperature, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, and/or any green/yellow discharge that is foul in odor.
